Frequently Asked Questions

1. You state you charge around $75.00 per a one story house. How long would you say it takes to do an average house gutters and how long would it take to clean really dirty one story house gutters?

An average single story home tends to take me around 30-45 minutes or up to an hour if really bad.

2. How long would it take the average 2 story house? Normal gutter dirt and really bad?

It depends on the roof line of the house, how bad the gutters are and what obstacles you have to work around. I have done some 2 story homes in as little as 30 minutes and I have done some that took almost 2 hours. The important thing is that you price each job accordingly.

3. Have you ever cleaned Industrial building gutters (large jobs)?
I personally haven’t taken any commercial jobs so far but we have several customers doing commercial work routinely.

4. I noticed a price difference on two items in your price sheets.

Part # 13-01-075-99 is marked $34.00 each on page 13 and on page 14 for 2 it is $1.00 more.

Part # GK300-15 Hose Assembly 3: Gutter Keeper 15’ is priced $346.56 on page 13 and on page 14 it is price $425.13 a difference of $78.57.
I was wondering why the difference?

Yes we will fix that $34.00 is the correct price. As far as the hose prices they are outdated and will be updated as we are using a more affordable hose presently.

5. Are the poly bags reusable and roughly how many times can they be used?

Yes, I would estimate 20-30+ uses per bag; you can also us 55 gallon drum liners or large yard waste bags.

6. Is there a lawn kit or will I have to purchase the individual parts?

What do you mean a lawn kit? If you mean the 4” hose and probe for ground debris collection then yes it is included.

7. I noticed on page 14 the complete package the filters are not included part # 11-01-115-11. How many of these will I need to purchase? Are they reusable and can they be washed? How are they cleaned? How often will I have to change them?

Yes a filter is included and can be reused, simply shake out or rinse to clean. They can also be cleaned in a normal washing machine.

8. I noticed in your clean up video that you use water to wash the system. Is this system a wet dry vac as well?

Yes our system bypasses the impeller so you can vacuum anything without damaging the system. The machine is rated for 25 inches of water lift.

9. The video for cleaning down spouts was a little confusing. Are they pumping water from the bottom and vacuuming from the top? Please explain. Will I need to systems?

No. There is no water is used in the downspout cleaning process. Included with the system is a downspout pressure hose that blows air into the bottom of the downspout; this used in conjunction with suction from the top is very effective.

10. When cleaning down spouts will I need a pressure washer?

No. no pressure washer is needed to clean downspouts using our system, although pressure washing is a great way to expand your list of services!

11. When cleaning gutters 2 stories and higher, (where you are on the roof), do you simply add more hose. If you add more hose how much vacuum pressure do you loose? How much extra hose will I need to purchase?

We have tested the system in excess of 100 feet of hose and extension tubes with minimal (unnoticeable) loss of suction.

12. How difficult is this system to use when you are on a ladder? Can one person manage alone?

We DO NOT recommend using our machine from a ladder, in fact it was designed to minimize the risk involved with ladder work by letting you work from the ground.
Only one person is needed to use the system but a helper will reduce your job times significantly.

13. What is the warranty on this equipment? (a brief explanation)

The system is covered against manufacturer’s defects and the motor is under a 5 year warranty from Honda.

14. Are the hoses under warranty?

No, in the janitorial industry, hoses are considered consumables and will need to be replaced eventually.

15. For average use, how often will the equipment need to be serviced, if taken care of correctly?

Normal small engine service on the motor and if cleaned after each job our system will pay for itself many times over and last for years.

16. What it the lifetime of the hoses and fittings? Will I need to purchase any spares?

If taken care of the hoses will last many years although they are consumables. Extra hose can be purchased as needed.

17. Will I need to make an appointment to come see this equipment at your facility?

We welcome you to come to us and watch a live demo but it is not necessary. We can provide video demos for your convenience, if you have a concern that’s not covered by one of our online video demos, please email us so that we can film it for you!
